The Challenge
The NEOM region, a key pillar of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, aims to redefine global luxury hospitality by blending futuristic development with local heritage. The challenge was to create a unique dining concept that celebrates Saudi culture while meeting the expectations of modern, high-end travelers. The goal was to craft an immersive culinary experience that balances tradition with innovation, creating a compelling identity for the emerging destination.

The Result
Three venues blend storytelling, heritage, and modern design for immersive dining experiences.
Past – Open Fire Dining
Celebrating primal traditions, this venue showcases natural rock, hand-forged materials, and clay ovens, evoking a connection to the Paleolithic era.
Present – Casual Elevated Dining
Combining biophilic design with comfort, the space features acacia wood, natural stone, and earthy tones from Trojena’s wadis, enhanced by a skylit water feature and open kitchen.
Future – Modern Saudi Dining
Reinventing Saudi craftsmanship with futuristic methods, this design incorporates 3D-printed Mashrabiya screens, a rammed-earth bar, and bold forms, reflecting Trojena’s innovative spirit.
Cultural Storytelling: Each venue reflects a narrative tied to Trojena’s past, present, and future, weaving heritage and innovation into the dining experience.
Natural Integration: Interiors draw inspiration from Trojena’s landscapes, incorporating materials like natural stone, acacia wood, and earthy tones to connect with the surrounding environment.
Craftsmanship and Innovation: A blend of traditional techniques and cutting-edge methods, including hand-forged elements, 3D-printed Mashrabiya screens, and sustainable materials, showcases a balance of authenticity and modernity.
Immersive Atmosphere: Thoughtful use of lighting, textures, and interactive features such as open kitchens and central water elements creates engaging, multi-sensory environments.
